{"id":41884,"date":"2018-11-29T15:17:27","date_gmt":"2018-11-29T14:17:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cms.munich-startup.net\/?p=41884"},"modified":"2018-11-29T15:17:13","modified_gmt":"2018-11-29T14:17:13","slug":"blockchain-healthcare","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cms.munich-startup.net\/en\/41884\/blockchain-healthcare\/","title":{"rendered":"Blockchain applications for healthcare sought"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\"><p><strong>The Federal Ministry of Health is looking for practical applications of blockchain in healthcare and is offering 30,000 euros for the best submissions. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bundesgesundheitsministerium.de\/blockchain\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Applications<\/a> are possible until December 10th.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Teams, individuals, universities, non-university research institutions, startups, and companies are eligible to participate. We are looking for solutions for applications in the German healthcare system, for example, in the areas of medical registries, organ and tissue donor registries, informed consent, and rights and identity management. Submissions from other subject areas are also welcome. Document management systems, such as electronic patient records, are not subject to the competition. There are also no specifications regarding the technical framework of the proposed blockchain application.<\/p>\n<h3>30,000 euros for the best ideas<\/h3>\n<p>The submitted concepts will be evaluated by an independent panel of experts. The authors of the selected concepts will then have the opportunity to publicly present their ideas at a future workshop at the Federal Ministry of Health in Berlin on February 27, 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The key evaluation criteria are relevance and added value, as well as sustainability, interoperability, and (data) security. The following questions are the focus of the evaluation of the concepts:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What relevance does the proposed application have in the German healthcare system? How is the problem currently being solved? What concrete improvements or efficiency gains will result in healthcare or healthcare research through the proposed blockchain application?<\/li>\n<li>What is the specific added value of using blockchain technologies compared to established technological implementation concepts?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition to a jury consultation, the winners will receive cash prizes of 15,000 euros for the first place, 10,000 euros for the second place and 5,000 euros for the third place.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bundesgesundheitsministerium.de\/blockchain\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Applications are possible online until December 10, 2018.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Federal Ministry of Health is seeking practical applications of blockchain in healthcare and is offering \u20ac30,000 for the best submissions.
