Since 2011, Freshfoods has been trying to establish itself in the German online supermarket market. Now, the subsidiary of regional retailer Feneberg has had to announce its closure. The Munich-based delivery service is being discontinued and transferred to Bringmeister.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cDespite great efforts and a lot of passion, we unfortunately have to stop our own deliveries due to the high investments [\u2026].\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

With these words, Freshfoods<\/a> from its customers. However, they should still be able to order their groceries and other items online, but only then through the service provided by Bringmeister.<\/p>\n

The product range of the Munich-based online supermarket service \u2014 a subsidiary of the Allg\u00e4u retail chain Feneberg \u2014 recently included around 8,000 items, including many regional products and own brands.<\/p>\n

Competitive pressure & poor figures<\/h3>\n

A possible reason for the end of Freshfoods is the strong competition from other providers such as the delivery service of Rewe and Bringmeister, the partner service of Edeka<\/a>. Since last year, Fresh, Amazon's delivery service, has also been active in Munich.<\/p>\n

Freshfoods\u2019 figures also indicate that the service has not been successful in Munich:\u00a0\u00a0Between 2015 and 2016, for example, the annual deficit was said to have been just under two million euros<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
