The German Accelerator Southeast Asia<\/a> supports German startups entering the Southeast Asian market. In November, four German startups will once again be traveling to Singapore to take their first steps. Among them are two representatives from Munich. The startups in this year's "Class of Winter 2018" all come from various promising industry sectors and aim to benefit from Singapore's vibrant startup ecosystem.<\/strong><\/p>\n

At the end of the final application round, the four best startups were selected to participate in the German Accelerator program in Singapore. The successful startups, which now comprise the "Class of Winter 2018," are: Hackerbay<\/strong> (AI Software), NOS (Cryptocurrency), everywhere (Location Marketing) and Vagavin<\/strong><\/a> (Digital Marketing) from Berlin and Munich. Although the selected startups offer applications for different industries, they all share a common goal: to develop a value proposition for the Asian market.<\/p>\n

Shaping the middle class of tomorrow<\/h3>\n

With a dynamic startup scene, ever-growing entrepreneurial spirit, and a large number of government funding initiatives, Singapore is the ideal starting point for many startups to expand into Asia. Claus Karthe<\/strong>, founder and CEO of German Accelerator Southeast Asia, describes the region as an incredibly important market for the placement of startup products and applications:<\/p>\n

"German Accelerator supports innovative startups from Germany that have the potential and determination to succeed in the Southeast Asian market. The goal is to empower promising German startups to build a viable business here and thus become part of Germany's future digital SME sector."<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cGreat conditions for expansion in Southeast Asia\u201d<\/h3>\n

The AI software startup Hackerbay sees great potential in the Southeast Asian market, which, thanks to the growing number of consumers and employees, has become an economic powerhouse for the manufacturing industry.<\/p>\n

"At Hackerbay, we're redefining the possible by empowering people to make better-informed decisions. Southeast Asia, especially the industrial sector, represents a data-rich environment with relatively little automation, making it a perfect fit for our software solution."<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

says Marc Seitz<\/strong>, CTO at Hackerbay.<\/p>\n

Wagawin, a marketing-tech startup developing so-called "LivingAds" for the mobile advertising industry, aims to focus on Southeast Asia, a region with an extremely high proportion of internet users. Co-founder and CEO Nicolas Leonhardt<\/strong> is convinced that the German Accelerator program<\/p>\n

"can help accelerate Wagawin's growth and enter new countries in the region. The rapidly increasing network coverage and high affinity for mobile device usage provide Wagawin with great opportunities to expand in Southeast Asia."<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Applications for the Class of Spring 2019 are open<\/h3>\n

To be admitted to the German Accelerator program, interested companies must submit an online application and participate in a detailed assessment and pitch session before a professional selection committee consisting of leading industry representatives, VCs, and German Accelerator representatives in Singapore and Germany. German startups interested in expanding to Southeast Asia can submit their application for the "Class of Spring 2019" on the German Accelerator website by February 1, 2019.<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
