Last autumn started<\/a> High-Tech Gr\u00fcnderfonds (HTGF) launched its third fund, "HTGF III." The results of the second closing are now available: The self-imposed target of \u20ac310 million was exceeded.<\/strong><\/p>\n

HTGF III has a total volume of \u20ac316.5 million. Investors include the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and KfW (KfW), as well as 32 companies. Two pharmaceutical giants, Boehringer Ingelheim and Bayer, recently joined the investment fund.<\/p>\n

More and more companies are realizing that investing in new technologies is necessary for all future industries in order to position Germany strongly as a business location internationally and to drive innovation,"<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

says Dr. Michael Brandkamp<\/strong>, Managing Director of High-Tech Gr\u00fcnderfonds.<\/p>\n

"We are also pleased that awareness of the benefits of cooperation with startups is steadily growing, especially among small and medium-sized businesses. We enjoy building bridges and bringing both worlds together."<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Some changes to the HTGF III<\/h3>\n

Since last fall 2017, HTGF III has been investing up to three million euros in venture capital in high-tech startups, and in exceptional cases even more. Managing Director Dr. Alex von Frankenberg says:<\/p>\n

\u201cWe can invest alone or together with partners at a freely negotiable company valuation or, as before, in the proven subordinated loan model.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

In addition to a larger investment volume compared to previous funds, another important change is that the previously mandatory founders' own financial contribution is now optional.
