Startups support established companies: At the startup pitch on Munich Airport <\/a>Six young entrepreneurs recently presented their business ideas.<\/strong> The innovations ranged from online shops to taxi sharing to the analysis of crowd flows \u2013 and in the end, it was all about the sausage.<\/p>\n

Innovation sponsors in conversation with startups<\/h3>\n

The startup pitch at the airport was aimed at innovation sponsors from various departments at Munich Airport. Head of Innovation Management Sarah Wittlieb and her team selected six from a total of 50 business ideas that could be of interest to the airport in a variety of ways.<\/p>\n

Which innovation could be suitable for Munich Airport?<\/h3>\n

This way, the mini sensors from Kinexon<\/a><\/strong> Locate flows of goods or people with centimeter precision. The software accu:rate<\/a><\/strong> simulates flows of people in buildings, while i-frontdesk<\/strong> works as a concierge for the tablet and could help with shopping at the airport.<\/p>\n

Share-a-Taxi<\/a> <\/strong>in turn is aimed at price-conscious passengers, whereas Grillido<\/a><\/strong> aimed at health awareness: The company has developed a sausage in 30 flavors that contains high protein, low fat and zero additives.<\/p>\n

Exploring possible applications<\/h3>\n

Afterwards, the focus was on the sausage for the audience, who were allowed to taste Grillido, but also for those who were mostly from the Technical University of Munich<\/strong> Although no winner was chosen, airport employees and founders engaged in lively discussions about potential applications at the airport at the subsequent mini-fair. Specific meetings between the startups and individual departments will follow to further explore the potential for collaboration.<\/p>\n

Munich Airport is already using startup ideas<\/h3>\n
