We asked the founders our seven questions.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Who are you and what do you do? Please briefly introduce yourself and your portal!\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Hello, I&#039;m Stefanie Feder, 29 years old, founder of ProjectRoom, the intelligent career platform for the world of work and careers 4.0. My co-founder is Henryk Vogel, former Strategy &amp; Business Development Manager at Monster Worldwide. Our goal is to build an innovative HR ecosystem that moves away from ad hoc job searches and toward continuous development. I myself have a film and directing background and came to HR via a roundabout route. My experience in eLearning and my part-time master&#039;s degree in human resources development gave me the impetus to found ProjectRoom.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. But that&#039;s been around for a long time!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are many job boards and business networks, but they all work according to current HR standards. Our career platform ProjectRoom turns these old standards on their head. Instead of CVs and job titles, applicants present themselves with projects, experience, and skills. And instead of semantic matching of applicant data with job postings, we profile applicant and job data at the competency level and match competency profiles using artificial intelligence. The underlying software has even been scientifically tested. What has been your biggest challenge so far?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The challenge is certainly the HR industry itself. Standards like resumes, cover letters, and typical recruiting clich\u00e9s have existed for too long. Breaking through these and reshaping them through the use of intelligent technology is the greatest challenge. But digitalization and innovative technology spare no industry, and HR must also transform. Every month, we are gaining more and more clients who want to move into the future with us. They not only use our platform, but we often also support HR professionals and recruiters in meeting the challenges of the world of work 4.0.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Let\u2019s get down to business: How is business going?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The huge wave of topics surrounding Workplace 4.0 and digitalization has given us a huge boost. We currently have 25 companies working with us and several thousand users on the platform. We&#039;re still in test mode until the end of the year, and our payment system will be activated on the company website in 2018. This will launch a new business model in the world of job markets! The highlight: Companies no longer pay for reach or for posting jobs. With us, job postings are free, and we match suitable candidates to the respective positions. This means our technology handles the entire pre-selection process and suggests the top 10 candidates. Companies then select the candidates they want to contact using the match report.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5. What does Munich mean to you?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I was born in Munich and founded ProjectRoom there in 2015. Back then, the startup scene wasn&#039;t as strong as it is today. We&#039;ve since moved to Berlin and are considering relocating our headquarters after our current funding round. Personally, I&#039;ve been able to take advantage of more opportunities in Berlin because people here are more open and driven\u2014which means they&#039;re more willing to try out new technologies. Unfortunately, rents are a negative factor for Munich. To be successful, you have to really embrace the startup hype here in Berlin and focus more on all the opportunities available.<\/p>\n<h3>\u201cEpic Fail Nights are just another hype for failure\u201d<\/h3>\n<p><strong>6. How will your startup become the next unicorn? Or will we see you soon at Epic Fail Night?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Neither\u2014I&#039;m quite a realist here, and the unicorn startup clich\u00e9 is often simply pushed by the media. I compare it to a newcomer singer. Everyone thinks they&#039;ve become rich and famous overnight, even though they&#039;ve been hanging out in pubs and bars for years and making music for several years. This long, hard work and the setbacks are often not shown. And the Epic Fail Nights are just hype about failure, which only tells half the story.<\/p>\n<p>I personally believe that a company can be successfully built through hard, disciplined, and consistent work. The challenge is perseverance and continuous progress. For me, that involves many setbacks, but ultimately, it&#039;s mostly a series of small successes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>7. Isar or English Garden?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Isar!
