SPLT<\/a> is a B2B mobility platform that is changing how people meet and move around the world. Originally based in Detroit, the US startup was founded in Munich TechFounders<\/a> Accelerator program. From here, the founders plan to launch their Europe-wide expansion.

1. Who are you and what do you do?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Founder Anya Babbitt<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Anya Babbitt is the founder and CEO of SPLT. She has already founded several companies and has one exit to her name. The idea for SPLT was born four years ago when Anya was working in Los Angeles and staying in a hotel. Every day, she took the hotel shuttle back and forth until one day it was completely booked. She "shared" the ride that day with two other hotel guests, and SPLT was born.<\/p>\n

Tailor-made mobility<\/h3>\n

The exchange of rides and ideas helped launch the first version of SPLT\u2014an app for travelers heading in the same direction to share the cost of a taxi in urban areas. The idea has since evolved into a platform that is fundamentally transforming mobility.<\/p>\n

We collaborate with organizations (companies, universities, and municipalities) to develop customized ridesharing programs within a closed network. This, in turn, helps promote green initiatives, attract and retain employees, and create cross-company networks.<\/p>\n

SPLT's closed-loop network platform integrates with multimodal transportation, including car sharing, buses, and fleet optimization. Together with Lyft, SPLT also provides non-emergency medical transportation to hospitals and other healthcare providers upon request.<\/p>\n

SPLT creates shared mobility for companies<\/h3>\n

2. But that's been around for a long time!<\/strong><\/p>\n

SPLT is the first true B2B on-demand shared mobility platform for companies. In addition to saving time and money, reducing vehicle wear and tear, and increasing productivity, SPLT also reduces stress, has beneficial social impacts, and has a positive environmental impact.<\/p>\n

Our competitors are \"\"<\/a>iIndividual carpooling platforms<\/a> (B2C). SPLT, on the other hand, is positioned differently with its practice-oriented B2B approach. Our competitive advantage is a practical approach to employee engagement, which promotes adoption.<\/p>\n

We work with companies that already have 100 or 1,000 employees and have been able to demonstrate a good number of users from day one. A major obstacle to market entry is the lack of ability to build critical mass on the platform. With its B2B approach, SPLT overcomes this hurdle.<\/p>\n

Successful financing, well-coordinated team<\/h3>\n

3. What are your three ingredients for success?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Although we're a small company, we've already achieved great success\u2014we've won more than 40 awards and raised $1.5 million in funding to date. We attribute this to our close-knit team, strong mentors, and cutting-edge technologies.<\/p>\n

4. Let\u2019s get down to business: How is business going?\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

The SPLT platform reaches 150,000 users. The team has gained traction with major customers such as DTE Energy (Detroit), Bosch (Mexico), Munich RE (Cincinnati), PG&E (San Francisco), and Ford (Dearborn).<\/p>\n

SPLT has signed contracts with American and German OEMs to integrate connected vehicle head units, creating a smooth and trouble-free driving experience. We have more than 150 companies in the pipeline, employing one million people. We expect to generate $1.5 million in revenue from ridesharing alone in 2017. The SPLT team has grown to more than 15 people and has been featured in over 190 press releases.<\/p>\n

Munich as a launchpad for the start in Europe<\/h3>\n

5. What does Munich mean to you?<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are very familiar with Munich, as we recently moved to the Munich TechFounders<\/a> program. Since our arrival last spring, we have received unparalleled support and mentorship from the local startup ecosystem.<\/p>\n

We also have Bits & Pretzels<\/a> We had our own booth there to showcase the SPLT solution together with other UnternehmerTUM<\/a>-to present startups.<\/p>\n

We've also already acquired paying customers in the region, such as the ADAC Munich branch. Of course, we plan to continue our presence in Munich and take advantage of all the opportunities available here. Munich is our launchpad for our European launch, where interest in SPLT is very high.<\/p>\n

Currently, SPLT is one of the fastest-growing MaaS companies in the world. We're working every day to become the next unicorn, but think of SPLT more as a cheetah leading the pack and racing toward the finish line. Although our team mascot is a panda...<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>We're transforming mobility by integrating people and technology, starting with our safe driving product line. Ultimately, SPLT envisions a future where sustainable, reliable, and affordable mobility access is available to all.<\/p>\n

As a female-owned technology company operating in the male-dominated automotive industry, we're not worried about the prospects for success. After all, SPLT is focused on changing the way people meet and move around in urban environments.<\/p>\n

7. Isar or English Garden?<\/strong><\/p>\n

While the Isar River is ideal for a relaxing evening, ultimately we prefer the English Garden. This beautiful public park embodies everything we strive for at SPLT. When we take a walk through the park, we see a connected, sustainable community where people can meet and make new connections.<\/p>\n
