Three founders from three different countries are coming together in Munich to simplify the design of living spaces with the help of photorealistic visualization. One of the three founders of Raumbild, Ali Tarek Ali El-Elemi, explains exactly how this can be envisioned in our 7 questions.<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Who are you and what do you do? Please briefly introduce yourself and your product!
\n<\/strong>
\nWe are Kevin Gallas Mayer (26) from Brazil, Andreas Roppel (26) from Kazakhstan, and myself, Ali Tarek Ali El-Elemi (25) from Egypt. We are the founders of Raumbild. Through a series of extraordinary coincidences, the three of us from completely different continents ended up in Germany, where we met while studying architecture. Our shared passion for visualization and fluency in 3D technologies ultimately led us to found our first GbR (limited liability company) for architectural visualization. We were already aware of people's need for photorealistic visualization when interior designing, and we began developing a concept and a business model for it.<\/p>\n

Our goal: to optimize and simplify the furnishing process for everyone. Raumbild compiles offers from various retailers in one app and shows the end customer how the products will look in their own home using AR (augmented reality).<\/p>\n

2. But that's been around for a long time!<\/strong><\/p>\n

To this day, home furnishing remains a time-consuming and stressful experience for most people. Raumbild is upgrading online retail and bringing younger customers to brick-and-mortar stores. Innovation in home furnishing is still lacking.<\/p>\n

3. What has been your biggest challenge so far?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The furniture industry proved to be very entrenched and conservative. Most companies in the sector had missed the evolution of the internet and were therefore not yet ready to take the next step.<\/p>\n

4. Let\u2019s get down to business: How is business going?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Raumbild app is developed using a lean approach and has already achieved over 10,000 app downloads since the first release of the MVP 2 months ago, without using any of the marketing budget.<\/p>\n

5. What does Munich mean to you?<\/strong><\/p>\n

We moved directly to Munich after graduating and immediately felt at home. The Munich startup scene welcomed us with a very open and alternative mindset. As Germany's most affluent city, Munich is also a great place to test MVPs.<\/p>\n

Of course, the many lakes and the Alps in the area are also a big plus.<\/p>\n

6. How will your startup become the next unicorn? Or will we see you soon at Epic Fail Night?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our app brings added value to save stress and time, as well as the fun and games factor that will soon propel our startup into unicorn paradise.<\/p>\n
