When the Cashwalk at the LMU in Munich is coming up, you know that a lot of international quality is coming together here: Around 50 startups from a wide variety of countries (Spain, Russia, Australia) came to the Bavarian capital to present themselves to around 70 investors at the high-profile event, to exchange ideas with others and to make valuable contacts.<\/strong><\/p>\n

On October 10, the fourth edition of the Cashwalk took place at Ludwig Maximilian University, the second in 2017. The pitch event was organized by LMU Entrepreneurship Center in collaboration with German Accelerator. Around 50 startups from near and far presented their business ideas in three rounds. Among them, of course, were some LMU "homegrown" companies, such as Forest Ring Games<\/em>, Crashtest Security <\/em>or glance.

Startups convince with high quality<\/h3>\n

Pitches were divided into six thematic blocks: Health & Sports, Home & Consumer, FinTech & Business, Infrastructure & Energy, Media & Entertainment, and Logistics, Mobility & IT. The presenters had three minutes to impress the jury, followed by a brief Q&A session with the judges. The judges were often very impressed by what was presented. Occasionally, the jury members even expressed interest in investing in various companies themselves.<\/p>\n

Daniel Wild of Tiburon, a judge in the Media & Entertainment and FinTech & Business rounds, said:<\/p>\n

\u201cGreat teams, I will definitely be talking to some of them after the event.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Eight top teams are looking forward to coaching<\/h3>\n

Anyone with questions after the pitch had the opportunity to reconnect with the individual startups and their founders during half-hour breaks between pitch rounds. Before the relaxed networking session in the evening, which surely laid the groundwork for one or two deals, the awards for the day's top startups were presented.<\/p>\n

Since many very mature business models were presented in this edition, the jury selected eight teams as the best instead of the initially planned six. Andy Goldstein, Director of the LMU Entrepreneurship Centers<\/a>, selected the lucky winners. In the end, Bongour, casavi, Colorimetrix, e-bot7, Have It Back, Lobster, Monaco Duck, and scoutbee not only received their winner's certificates, but also received exclusive coaching sessions as a prize.<\/p>\n

The next Cashwalk is planned for February 2018. It's safe to assume that there will be some impressive pitches there as well.<\/p>\n
