MAIoT \u2014<\/a> Munich Artificial Intelligence of Trucks aims to make trucks intelligent. The Munich-based startup evaluates data already generated in vehicles and uses it to generate knowledge about their operation and condition.<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Who are you and what do you do? Please introduce yourselves briefly!<\/strong><\/p>\n

The name of our startup MAIoT is an acronym and, when written out in full, already indicates our focus: Munich Artificial Intelligence of Trucks.<\/p>\n

Prevent break-ins!<\/h3>\n

The focus is on B2B vehicles such as trucks or buses, whose availability and reliability are fundamental to the success of the company\u2014for example, just-in-time logistics companies or bus operators. Through increasing digitalization and the use of telematics systems, we can access the status of the vehicle's subsystems live, over-the-air. Through the use of artificial intelligence, we can predict future behavior\u2014and this is universal for all vehicle manufacturers. This allows us to avoid breakdowns on the road and tailor maintenance intervals and maintenance schedules specifically to each vehicle.<\/p>\n

MAIoT's Predictive Maintenance will save fleet operators with heterogeneous fleets the organizational effort of maintenance planning and high, unnecessary costs. Targeted maintenance timing can save up to \u20ac3,500 per truck annually.<\/p>\n

MAIoT: a founding team in the Digital Hub Mobility<\/h3>\n

Our founding team met at the beginning of this year in Digital Hub Mobility<\/a> at the IBM Watson IoT Center. We participated in the UnternehmerTUM Digital Product School and had a clear focus on spinning off the idea. Currently, the incubator is supporting us. Xpreneurs.io<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I'm Adam (28, Mechanical Engineering & Management, TUM+Stanford) and I've already gained several years of experience in the Munich trucking industry. My co-founder, Evisa (25, Software Engineering & Architecture, TUM), specializes in the scalability of our big data solution. And the third founder, Hamza (25, Software Engineering & Artificial Intelligence, TUM), has been exploring the applicability of artificial intelligence in industry since his early student days.<\/p>\n

2. But that's been around for a long time!<\/strong><\/p>\n

No! Current solutions are primarily preventive, i.e., based on empirical data, rather than predictive, based on AI models or algorithms. Those that use artificial intelligence, in turn, are not tailored to the customer's needs and are not universally applicable to their fleet.<\/p>\n

This is exactly where MAIoT comes in: a cross-brand predictive maintenance solution using artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n

3. What are the three main ingredients for your recipe for success?<\/strong><\/p>\n

  2. Munich<\/a>, the Technical University of Munich and the CDTM <\/a><\/li>\n
  3. The proximity to the truck and digital industries<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    4. Let\u2019s get down to business: How is business going?<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Things are going very well right now. The first customer projects are just around the corner. OEMs want to include us as an add-on to their Salesforce. Business angels and VCs have already expressed interest and contacted us. So, there are very promising developments in every direction!<\/p>\n

    Perfect combination of industrial location and start-up ecosystem<\/h3>\n

    5. What does Munich mean to you?<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Munich is the perfect combination of industrial location and startup ecosystem. Especially for our startup in the field of truck digitalization, Munich offers a tremendous amount. In addition to major truck manufacturers and suppliers, there are global digital market leaders, renowned universities, and startup centers.<\/p>\n

    It is not without reason that IBM's global IoT headquarters and the Digital Hub Mobility from the German government's de:Hub initiative are located here.<\/p>\n

    Personally, Munich is also an absolute highlight: bike-friendly, welcoming, traditional, close to mountains and lakes\u2026<\/p>\n

    6. How will your startup become the next unicorn? Or will we see you soon at Epic Fail Night?<\/strong><\/p>\n

    It can be both \u2014 but everything else is boring \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
