In the beginning there was KONUX <\/a>a sensor for monitoring industrial plants, complemented by hardware and analytics programs. The Munich-based startup has now been honored with the TUM Presidential Entrepreneurship Award.<\/strong><\/p>\n

KONUX prevailed against two competitors and won the \u20ac10,000 prize. The award is given annually to an outstanding spin-off whose business idea is significantly based on TUM research findings. Further criteria include high growth potential and secured initial financing.<\/p>\n

How KONUX convinced the jury of the TUM Presidential Entrepreneurship Award<\/h3>\n

The founders met through TUM\u2014and the winning startup impressed them both in terms of growth potential and financing. Andreas Kunze, Dennis Humhal, and Vlad Lata develop highly accurate and robust "smart" sensors. Together with artificial intelligence-based analysis software, they form a system focused on the networking and digitalization of railway structures. KONUX has now acquired major companies as customers, several financing rounds <\/a>completed and was awarded numerous awards<\/a> excellent.<\/p>\n

How the KONUX founders met<\/h3>\n

On the way from the idea to their own company, the founders have received numerous offers from TUM <\/a>and UnternehmerTUM <\/a>While Andreas Kunze and Dennis Humhal were part of the UnternehmerTUM's 'Manage&More' program, Vlad Lata completed the elite 'Technology Management' program of the CDTM<\/a>, a joint institution of TUM and LMU.<\/p>\n

The foundation was laid in a seminar on the topic of "business plan," where Kunze, Humhal, and Lata met. In addition to the TUM start-up consulting services, they also participated in coaching programs and developed prototypes in the high-tech workshop "MakerSpace<\/a>\u201c. In addition, the venture capital fund of UnternehmerTUM has invested in KONUX.<\/p>\n

The KONUX founders were able to convince the jury of the TUM Presidential Entrepreneurship Awards at the Entrepreneurship Day in the TUM Audimax and prevailed against two strong competitors: eGym <\/a>and ProGlove <\/a>were also in the running for the award.<\/p>\n

Following the awards ceremony, visitors were able to learn more about starting a business at over 50 booths.
