The Darboven IDEE Award, which recognizes innovative business ideas from women, has been around for 20 years. But now you have to act fast: Female founders can only apply for funding of up to \u20ac50,000 until July 31st. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The founder, Albert Darboven, a Hamburg coffee roaster, wants to use his commitment to support the entrepreneurial potential of women in Germany and create future-proof jobs.<\/p>\n

The award is the only national recognition for innovative start-up ideas by women. Albert Darboven believes the support is still needed even after 20 years:<\/p>\n

\u201cI am always amazed by the high entrepreneurial potential of women, which is still under-promoted.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

By awarding this prestigious prize, the founder aims to encourage women to pursue entrepreneurial independence. The award seeks promising business ideas from all sectors of the economy.<\/p>\n

The award criteria of the Darboven IDEE Prize<\/h3>\n

The criteria for awarding the prize are clearly defined. They include:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • The degree of innovation of the business idea,<\/li>\n
  • a viable business concept,<\/li>\n
  • the personal commitment of the founder and<\/li>\n
  • the number of new jobs created or expected.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Eligible to participate are female start-ups and young entrepreneurs who have been self-employed for no more than three years. Business concepts from the social sector are also welcome.<\/p>\n

    Present the founding idea<\/h3>\n

    Typically, five applicants are allowed to present their business idea in person to the jury in Hamburg. A spot in this final round is awarded through a public vote.<\/p>\n

    The award ceremony<\/h3>\n

    The awards ceremony will take place in Hamburg in November 2017. Three business ideas will be honored. First prize is worth \u20ac50,000, second prize \u20ac10,000, and third prize \u20ac5,000.<\/p>\n
