This news will come as little surprise to many: A recent analysis of the 2017 Randstad Labor Barometer found that entrepreneurs in Germany face (too) many obstacles. Better conditions can be found in Norway, Great Britain, and Denmark.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Support founders more<\/h3>\n

While only 59% of respondents in Germany believe that the country offers good conditions for founding a startup, the number in Great Britain, Norway, and Denmark is almost 70%. This still places Germany in the middle of the pack.<\/p>\n

And even if in Germany some is done to support founders in the difficult initial phase, <\/a>There is still a need for action. Especially when it comes to reducing bureaucracy, other countries are much further ahead. If you want to start a company in Estonia, the entire registration process is done online. And in Austria, you no longer need a notary for the simple establishment of a GmbH (limited liability company) (with a three-year trial period).<\/p>\n

Are startups attractive as employers?<\/h3>\n

Another interesting question from the labor barometer is the extent to which a startup is attractive as an employer. Established companies still seem to be more attractive to German employees. Only 36% of respondents would like to work for a startup. The situation is quite different in other countries: When asked whether they would like to work for a young tech company, half of all Britons answered yes, while among Danes, the number is as high as 47%.<\/p>\n

However, Germany isn't quite so poor. 45% of respondents between the ages of 25 and 44 can imagine working in a startup.<\/p>\n

The Randstad Labor Barometer online survey is conducted quarterly in 33 countries. In Germany, 400 employees between the ages of 18 and 65 from various industries were surveyed.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
