Munich goes San Francisco: The Munich startup MeisterLabs<\/a> travels to Silicon Valley. As part of the Startup Europe Comes to Silicon Valley (SEC2SV) program, founder Oliver Huebler will present his idea. The trip is organized by EIT Digital<\/a> and the organization Mind the Bridge<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The goal of the SEC2SV program is to promote rapid growth in the US market. It kicks off on September 12 at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, where the European Innovation Day will be held. The following week, the German participants will meet with American managers to discuss various sales, investment, and collaboration opportunities. There will also be presentations, meetings, and workshops.<\/p>\n

In the circle of the European elite<\/h3>\n

MeisterLabs, which will be the only German representatives in Silicon Valley, will be in good company: the most innovative tech startups from countries such as Belgium, France, Iceland, Italy and Slovenia will be there.<\/p>\n

The Munich-based company (capital raised: $550,000; employees: 21) has developed MindMeister, a collaborative online mind mapping software. They also developed MeisterTask, a software for intuitive task management.<\/p>\n

COO hopes that the trip to the USA will Oliver Huebler<\/strong> some:<\/p>\n

"Participating in SEC2SV allows us to break down physical boundaries and work together on the success of MindMeister & MeisterTask. We hope to develop many new partnerships to build on our previous success in the United States. Different perspectives broaden our horizons immensely, and we are proud to have these within the framework of SEC2SV."<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Udo Bub<\/strong>, Director of EIT Digital in Germany, explained:<\/p>\n

"SEC2SV brings together some of Europe's future unicorns with the right American industry partners. The US has one of the most challenging tech markets anywhere, which is why EIT Digital is investing significantly to build a focused and stable bridge between the European and US markets and support companies in their internationalization,"<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Marco Marinucci<\/strong>, CEO Mind the Bridge, on the program's successes so far:<\/p>\n

"We've already seen impressive results from startups participating in SEC2SV 2015. For example, JobandTalent (Spain) raised over $42 million and Mosaicoon (Italy) over $8 million in funding. I expect similarly impressive results from this year's cohort."<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
