The Munich-based startup TerraLoupe, which analyzes aerial image data of large areas using artificial intelligence, has completed seed financing from Bayern Kapital and a consortium of angel investors.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The use of TerraLoupe's deep learning technology now makes it possible to automatically detect even small objects in large areas. The company plans to invest the fresh capital in expanding and refining the algorithms. These can efficiently detect relatively small objects, such as skylights or street signs, from large amounts of data; such solutions were previously unavailable on the market.<\/p>\n

\u201cMany customers are surprised by what is already possible today\u201d<\/h3>\n

For example, TerraLoupe helps (re)insurance companies better assess their building insurance risks across cities by automatically detecting large areas of skylights and conservatories on and around buildings. Car manufacturers can obtain highly accurate road maps for driver assistance systems and autonomous driving more quickly and cost-effectively. Such maps also contain information on traffic infrastructure, for example. Solar energy providers can identify suitable roof areas for installing solar systems.<\/p>\n

"In principle, we want to use our platform to advance the digitization of the outside world and, in the long term, combine the detected objects with georeferenced additional information. Many customers are surprised by what is already possible today. And we can now provide them with information that will boost their business,"<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

explained Roman Huber<\/strong>, Managing Director of Bayern Kapital<\/a>Bayern Kapital was acquired as an investor together with a consortium of angels led by Prof. Dr. Michael Mirow, Prof. Dr. Christoph von Einem and the e2C3 angel network.<\/p>\n

Dr. Carsten Rudolph<\/strong>, Managing Director of BayStartUP<\/a>, has already supported the TerraLoupe team in coaching before the financing round.<\/p>\n
