The collaboration is based on a signed letter of intent between both companies. The goal is to establish a long-term cooperation in the field of battery recycling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\u201cWe need partners who share our commitment\u201d <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Tozero contributes its proprietary technology for the sustainable recovery of critical raw materials such as lithium and graphite. JGC Japan complements this expertise with decades of experience in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of large-scale industrial projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&quot;To achieve zero waste from lithium-ion batteries, we need partners who share our commitment. JGC Japan combines global reach with deep technical expertise to help us realize this vision. With nearly a century of experience in executing complex technical projects, JGC Japan is well positioned to support our global scale-up and strengthen the stability of the supply chain for critical battery materials.&quot; <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>says<strong> Sarah Fleischer<\/strong>, CEO and co-founder of Tozero.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Initial concrete plans include the potential construction of a hydrometallurgical recycling plant in Japan. In the long term, the partners aim to expand their activities globally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Japan relies on sustainable battery materials<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The collaboration between Tozero and JGC Japan is entering a market with high strategic ambitions: The Japanese lithium-ion battery sector is considered pioneering and is supported by strong government investment and international industry players. Although Japan&#039;s electric car industry is still in its early stages compared to other regions, its potential is considered significant. At the same time, battery recycling is gaining importance.
