The City of Munich has awarded the Municipal Innovation Prize for the eighth time. MCube Consulting, Atopia Space, Hula Earth, Proband15, and Team Social Guide were honored for their solutions to current challenges facing city administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The innovation competition is organized annually by Referat f\u00fcr Arbeit und Wirtschaft. Its goal is to continuously develop the city administration through digital innovations and strengthen Munich as a smart city. Mayor Dominik Krause<\/strong> says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

"As mayor, it's important to me that the city not only offers outstanding service to its citizens, but also acts as a modern partner to businesses. It's therefore essential for Munich, a high-tech hub, that we as a city administration continually evolve, explore new avenues, and remain open to change. The innovation competition is a driver of innovation within the administration; it inspires us to make Munich even smarter and thus ready for the future. Congratulations to the award winners."<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Each winning team will receive 10,000 euros in prize money and an implementation budget of up to 25,000 euros for the upcoming co-creation phase with the city administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The award-winning projects at a glance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With its platform, MCube Consulting is improving the approval process for the approximately 9,000 events that take place in Munich each year. Intuitive user guidance, automated communication, and geodata-based risk assessment are intended to significantly increase planning reliability and coordination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Social Guide team is responding to the challenges of digitally applying for humanitarian residence permits. With the help of a digital assistant, the application process becomes more understandable and accessible for refugees. The team brings its own migration experience and IT expertise to the solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Atopia Space<\/a> transfers temporary art in public spaces to Munich's digital twin. This digitally extends, archives, and makes art accessible and interactive. The platform integrates innovative features such as AI curators and curatable templates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hula Earth<\/a> brings transparency to the city's biodiversity with bioacoustic IoT sensors and AI-supported analysis. The solution provides precise, digitally available data on animal and plant populations, enabling the data-driven development of species conservation programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With "Datengartl'n," Proband15 provides a platform that visualizes and analyzes open administrative data. The goal is to promote the use of open data for citizens, administration, and researchers alike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Christian Scharpf<\/strong>, Minister for Labor and Economic Affairs, summarizes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

"With the Innovation Award, we recognize the most promising solutions to the city's challenges and provide the starting signal for further developing the ideas in a co-creation project together with partners and testing them in the city.
