CedarDB has closed a \u20ac5.3 million seed investment. The financing round is led by Amplify Partners. Several well-known angel investors are also supporting the startup, including Hanno Renner, CEO of Personio, and Jordan Tigani, CEO of Motherduck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Startup<\/a> is developing a modern database system that combines speed, versatility, and efficiency in a single platform. The system replaces complex data stacks with a unified solution that supports various data formats\u2014relational, graph, and document-based\u2014and is suitable for both business analytics and AI applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CedarDB: One system for all data requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With CedarDB, the founders pursue the goal of building a completely new database system from the ground up. The system deliberately avoids individual, hyper-optimized components of existing database systems. Instead, CedarDB combines transaction processing and analytics in a PostgreSQL-compatible, all-in-one solution. The Community Edition is available free of charge and can be easily deployed locally or in the cloud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since launching about a year ago, the team has grown from five to ten people. In addition to the headquarters in Munich, the first employee in the USA has also joined the team. Supported by the EXIST start-up grant, CedarDB has laid the technical foundation for further growth and is now planning to introduce additional features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The financing represents a key building block for the startup's continued growth \u2013 both in terms of personnel and technology.
