To investigate this question, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.fdiintelligence.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fDi Magazine\/Financial Times Ltd.<\/a> The online survey &quot;European Cities and Regions of the Future&quot; is conducted every two years. A total of 294 cities and 148 regions participated in this year&#039;s comparison. Munich is pleased: The Bavarian capital improved its position in the overall Top 25 ranking, taking 5th place.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The study by fDi magazine aims to illustrate how attractive European cities and regions are for international companies and investors and why they choose a particular location. To achieve meaningful results, a total of five categories were examined, which in turn incorporated over 80 individual categories. To answer the question of <em>Economic potential<\/em> To investigate this, the population, GDP, FDI (foreign direct investments), number of patents and much more were examined in more detail.<\/p>\n<h3>Munich climbs to the top<\/h3>\n<p>And here&#039;s the good news: Munich has moved up one place in the overall Top 25 ranking, taking fifth place behind London, Paris, Dublin, and Frankfurt. Bavaria, the business location, also has nothing to fear, landing among the top ten regions in Europe at seventh place in the overall Top 25 ranking.<\/p>\n<p>The fDi study also predicts outstanding future viability for other major German cities. In the ranking of the Top 10 Large European Cities of the Future 2016\/17, five German cities alone \u2013 Frankfurt, Munich, D\u00fcsseldorf, Stuttgart, and Hamburg \u2013 occupy the top spots. Here, Frankfurt still has the edge over Munich.
