Pina Earth<\/a>, the market leader for certified climate protection projects in German forests, and the green electricity provider Yello have launched a long-term partnership to promote forest conversion in Germany. The goal of the collaboration is to make German forests more resilient to the effects of climate change and increase their CO\u2082 storage potential through sustainable projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Climate-fit forest through innovative partnership<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The cooperation aims to convert monocultures into climate-resilient mixed forests. To this end, Yello is investing in four forest projects in Germany. \u2013<\/strong> More are to follow. Through the cooperation, more than two million square meters of forest are already being made climate-fit for the long term. Pina Earth relies on innovative digital solutions and scientific forest growth simulations to monitor and transparently document the progress of the projects. Gesa Biermann<\/strong>, Founder and Managing Director of Pina Earth<\/a>, explains:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Supporting Pina Earth is particularly important because healthy forests not only act as carbon sinks, but also enhance biodiversity and remain a habitat for many species. The initiative ensures that these forests are protected for the long term and play a vital role in the fight against climate change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Climate protection contribution for Yello customers<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Since 2025, every new Yello contract for household electricity, heat, and gas has automatically included a climate contribution of \u20ac2.50 per contract. This contribution flows directly into Pina Earth projects, thus promoting sustainable forest management. Through this measure, Yello customers are actively involved in climate protection. They support the increase of ecological diversity in existing forests and the reforestation of degraded areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
