Munich Startup:<\/em> What does your startup do? What problem do you solve? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johanna Fink, Co-Founder Teilzeit.Talente<\/em>: Our work helps close the gap between the demand for and supply of qualified part-time positions. Today, 30 percent of employees already work part-time, and the trend is rising. Yet most job boards only list positions for student trainees or low-wage part-time jobs. Management positions, in particular, are currently almost never offered part-time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With our job board at Teilzeit.Talente, we make good part-time positions and part-time-friendly employers visible. <\/a>We help companies leverage the benefits of a part-time-friendly organization, such as sustainable employer branding, strong employee retention, and high productivity despite diverse work models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Munich Startup:<\/em> But that's been around for a long time!  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johanna Fink<\/em>: (Unfortunately) not. We are the first startup to explicitly address the topic of part-time work and the economic and social benefits of this work model, and to provide solutions for them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Part-time talents: Two good ideas combined<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Munich Startup:<\/em> What is your founding story?  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johanna<\/em> finch<\/em>: My co-founder Moritz Orendt and I met halfway. In fact, we started independently of each other. Moritz with the job board\u2014then called Teilzeitb\u00f6rse\u2014and I with Teilzeit.Talente, focusing on consulting for companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We finally met through a podcast interview \u2013 at some point, Moritz approached me and asked if we wanted to join forces. We've been working together since 2024, and I have to say, starting a business together is simply more fun!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Munich Startup:<\/em> What have been your biggest challenges so far?  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johanna Fink<\/em>: The biggest challenge is certainly the reluctance of some companies to embrace part-time work. Especially in the current economic uncertainty, I get the impression that many companies have postponed the issue of the skilled labor shortage for the time being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, statistics clearly show that the situation will worsen dramatically by 2027 at the latest due to the retirement of the baby boomer generation. Organizations that are already adapting to this change and can effectively integrate flexible working models, for example, will then have a massive advantage in the labor market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Part-time work as an important tool against the shortage of skilled workers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Part-time work \u2013 ideally near-full-time work \u2013 is an important tool to combat the shortage of skilled workers. It serves to integrate previously structurally underemployed groups, such as women and especially mothers, into the labor market. But part-time work is also highly attractive for younger employees, fathers, and older workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Munich Startup:<\/em> Where would you like to be in one year, where in five years? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johanna Fink<\/em>: In just one year, we've further expanded our job board and are now able to offer jobs in additional cities, thus supporting even more people in their search for qualified part-time employment. At the same time, we hope that even more companies will work with us and embark on the path to becoming part-time-friendly employers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In five years, we have scaled our business model, as demographic change \u2013 and the resulting shortage of skilled workers \u2013 has significantly increased demand on the corporate side. We have hired people \u2013 part-time, of course \u2013 and have become a part-time-friendly employer ourselves. Our job board makes us the top address for good part-time jobs, and we recognize organizations in the DACH region with our Part-Time-Friendly Seal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Good part-time jobs are currently easier to find elsewhere <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Munich Startup:<\/em> How have you experienced Munich as a startup location so far?  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johanna Fink<\/em>: One of our goals is to further connect with the social impact startup scene in Munich \u2013 because our work strongly contributes to social sustainability factors. Of course, there's a good startup infrastructure here \u2013 but with our specific topic, we also notice that many of our corporate clients come from other German states and, for example, good part-time jobs are easier to find in Berlin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Munich Startup:<\/em> Risk or security?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johanna Fink<\/em>: Clearly a risk \u2013 otherwise we wouldn\u2019t be dealing with this topic\u2026 But joking aside, we see ourselves as pioneers and that always comes with a certain amount of uncertainty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the same time, both Moritz and I work part-time at Teilzeit.Talente and have other sources of income. We believe this is also a future trend\u2014many people no longer work for just one employer, but instead have multiple jobs and employment relationships.<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
