Quantum Systems' compact drones can take off and land vertically and can be equipped with a variety of different sensors. Furthermore, the drones are particularly characterized by their flexible and mobile deployment, ease of use, high-performance flight control software, and integrated AI functionalities. Originally designed for Topics such as search and rescue operations, smart farming, open-cast mining and large construction sites<\/a> The Munich-based company has since become an important supplier to various armed forces. Quantum Systems not only supplies the Ukrainian armed forces \u2013 for which a new plant in Ukraine<\/a> was built \u2013 but also the Bundeswehr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the additional funds now collected of almost 40 million euros \u2013 the original Series B<\/a> Quantum Systems raised \u20ac63.3 million \u2013 the Munich-based company aims to accelerate its global expansion and invest in the further development of artificial intelligence (AI) and software. In addition to Notion Capital and Porsche Automobil Holding SE, existing investors also participated again. Porsche SE should not be confused with Porsche AG: While the SE is responsible for the asset management of the Porsche Piech family, the AG is responsible for the production of sports cars as a subsidiary of the VW Group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Florian Seibel<\/strong>, CEO and co-founder of Quantum Systems, explains:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am grateful to all our investors who have supported us along this journey\u2014the best is yet to come. But one thing is certain: without security, nothing is worth anything."<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

He also has special words for the new investor, Porsche. What both companies have in common, Seibel says, is their understanding of technology and perfection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lutz Meschke<\/strong>, Member of the Executive Board for Investment Management at Porsche SE, says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

"Drone technology has evolved rapidly in recent years. The market potential of this technology is extremely high. Quantum Systems, with its leading technology platform, will participate disproportionately in the growth of this sector. The market for compact drones is expected to grow by 20 percent per year in the coming years." <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

And Patrick Norris<\/strong>, General Partner at Notion Capital, adds:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Successful projects with partners such as Airbus<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To this end, Quantum Systems is also collaborating with other companies, such as Airbus. The partners recently announced a breakthrough in the development of drone swarm technologies. In a demonstration in early August, drone swarms powered by artificial intelligence successfully completed several test scenarios \u2013 including those involving radio interference or the failure of individual drones. This is based on advanced deep reinforcement learning, in which the AI independently optimizes its tactics in a simulation, enabling it to make more precise decisions in tactical operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And other startups are also among Quantum Systems\u2019 partners, such as the Munich-based Arx<\/a>Arx develops unmanned ground vehicles; together, the two companies aim to offer improved unmanned solutions tailored to the increasing autonomy of the battlefield. This cooperation has now been expanded with the founding of the UXS Alliance: In addition to the two Munich-based companies, it includes other developers and providers of unmanned solutions.
