Isar Pyrolysis converts plastic waste into valuable fuels in a decentralized manner:<\/strong> According to a 2017 study, around 6.3 billion tons of plastic waste have been created since the invention of plastic. 79 percent of this waste is found in landfills or directly in the environment \u2013 in rivers, on beaches, as part of the infamous garbage islands, or even as microplastics in the food chain. And every year, around 350 million tons of plastic waste are added, of which only about 15 percent is recycled. This is a gigantic problem that the startup Isar Pyrolysis is seeking to address. The Munich-based company is developing a flexible plant that produces fuel from plastic waste. The company aims not only to reduce waste but also to supply remote locations with fuel.
