Rebike takes over large quantities of used e-bikes from reputable leasing companies and dealers and extends their lifespan through professional refurbishment. According to the company, around 15,000 e-bikes are refurbished annually. The company<\/a> follows a specially developed refurbishment process certified by T\u00dcV Rheinland. The wheels are then its own online platform rebike.com<\/a> or sold via second-use marketplaces from partners such as Decathlon and eBay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this way, the Munich-based company not only aims to offer an attractive alternative to buying new bikes, but also to contribute to the mobility transition, climate protection, and the conservation of limited resources with its circular business model. The company states that refurbishing an e-bike releases only 16 kilograms of CO2 equivalents, while manufacturing a new e-bike emits 229 kilograms. The annual refurbishment of 20,000 e-bikes at Rebike therefore saves 3,195 tons of CO2 equivalents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through its recently launched partnership with Businessbike, Rebike is expanding its offerings to include company bikes. E-bikes that return to Businessbike after their leases have expired are first professionally refurbished by Rebike. After the process, they are as good as new, but up to 40 percent cheaper than buying new. They are then offered again through company bike leasing, thus gaining a second lease. The contract is concluded via the website at rebike.com.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In doing so, the companies are also closing a loop. Rebike states that the high quality standards of its refurbishment also make multiple cycles of reconditioning and leasing possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cA step towards a greener future\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Rebike CEO and Co-Founder Thomas Bernik<\/strong> explained:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

"We're observing that more and more people are thinking about the impact of their purchasing behavior and looking for alternatives. Especially with e-bikes, refurbishing and reusing is a very smart choice: Customers get a technically equivalent product at a significantly lower price while protecting the environment. Reuse is therefore trending, and refurbished e-bikes will soon become standard offerings in the bicycle industry. We're now taking the next step together with our partner Businessbike: With company bike leasing, switching to a refurbished e-bike is becoming even more attractive. Our customers benefit in multiple ways \u2013 and e-bikes are used for significantly longer."<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
