Munich Startup: <\/em>What does your startup do? What problem do you solve?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Markus Weltz, Co-Founder:<\/em> With One3, we build and operate innovative and smart convenience customer lounges at electric vehicle charging stations. Charge point operators (CPOs) aren't just looking for ideal locations. They're also desperately searching for concepts to make their charging points more customer-friendly and differentiate them from the competition. We round out our offering by offering our CPO partners a full-service package: In addition to the lounges, we also design and build the charging stations themselves and provide operational support for the location. This gives CPOs unbeatable arguments for collaborating with us. This allows them to scale their network of charging stations and operate the charging locations more profitably.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Munich Startup: <\/em>But that's been around for a long time!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marc Arnold, Co-Founder:<\/em> Every driver knows the problems at rest stops. Unfortunately, the few existing lounges at charging stations on the market aren't particularly different. They lack comfort and have an uninviting atmosphere. We're bringing lounges into the digital age and setting ourselves apart through technology and quality. Our One3 lounges are fully digitalized, unmanned, and smart \u2013 thus guaranteeing a level of comfort that befits a modern fast-charging station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, there is no other company on the market that provides CPOs with a holistic concept: from the planning and construction of charging stations to the operation of customer lounges and the operational management of the site. These turnkey solutions set us apart from the competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Munich Startup: <\/em><\/strong>What is your founding story<\/strong>?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Markus Weltz:<\/em> We've known each other for about three years and are former business partners. As managing director of a major shopfitter, Marc was responsible for building the first lounges on the market. And as an authorized signatory at one of the largest charging infrastructure operators, I was able to build the network in various countries. So, we both come from a fast-paced environment, know the business, and love taking on new challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based on a shared desire to build something new, the direction quickly became clear: We wanted to establish a company in a segment we were familiar with and solve our customers' existing pain points today, not tomorrow! Incidentally, "One3" stands for the 13th letter of the alphabet, "M," and for our mutual lucky number, 13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Munich Startup: <\/em>What have been your biggest challenges so far?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marc Arnold:<\/em> A challenging financing environment and what we believe is currently a far too negative mood. We are optimistic about the future, both for Germany as a business location in general and for the development of E-mobility<\/a> in particular!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Munich Startup: <\/em>How are things going?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Markus Weltz:<\/em> We've officially been in existence for about four months now, and we're very pleased with the first contracts signed in our various business areas. With our current staffing levels, our order books for 2025 are almost full. Therefore, we now need to set the course for our upcoming expansion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Munich Startup: <\/em>How have you experienced Munich as a startup location so far?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Markus Weltz:<\/em> As a native of Munich who grew up in the surrounding area, it was a matter of the heart for me to start a company in Munich. Marc, a Hamburg native, has since moved to the south of Germany, but he's always happy to breathe in the sea air. We benefit from what is now a very strong startup culture in Munich, which is also well-developed in the real estate and mobility sectors. Our base is in Munich, but of course we work extensively on our projects in Germany and the surrounding countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Munich Startup: <\/em><\/strong>Hidden champion or shooting star?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
