Dehydration is particularly detrimental to the health of older people and those in need of care, causing significant additional effort and costs in care. It is therefore important to ensure adequate and regular fluid intake at all times.<\/p>\n

Each year, over 1 million cases of dehydration are diagnosed as a primary or secondary diagnosis during inpatient admissions in Germany. This costs social insurance providers over \u20ac2 billion per year.<\/p>\n

Reminding patients of fluid intake, monitoring it, and maintaining a fluid log are very time-consuming in professional care, and sufficient resources are often lacking.<\/p>\n
