With MASTLI – Magical Story Listening – we offer a digital travel companion for customized audio experience tours that combines the flexibility of city tour apps with a personal touch and the diversity of classic city tours. Selected facts and figures are packaged into captivating stories and told from the perspective of fictional characters with an entertaining background. This results in a heightened learning effect. The innovative app allows control via GPS data synchronization and voice interaction. Distractions caused by smartphone screen interaction are avoided, increasing user concentration. Customers also benefit from the high level of flexibility and affordable price.
The digital experiences can be purchased and completed by private customers (B2C) via a mobile app. We create the individual experiences in collaboration with local tour guides and share the revenue with them. We can generate additional revenue through the B2B channel by selling experiences or our infrastructure for delivering the experiences to commercial partners.
The market analysis shows enormous potential for our business idea due to the rapidly rising digitalization trend combined with the lucrative tourism market. In this context, the coronavirus pandemic represents both a risk and a significant opportunity: The slump in the tourism market due to travel restrictions may be slow to recover, but at the same time, customized and digital solutions, such as our app, could benefit significantly from the crisis.
MASTLI was founded by three STEM graduates, Markus, Stephi, and Lisi. We share a long-standing friendship and a strong passion for travel. Our individual interests and professional experience complement each other perfectly: Stephanie Schiele is passionate about new technologies and innovations and brings several years of professional experience in product development, while Elisabeth "Lisi" Schmidt focuses on human factors engineering, including mechanisms and studies to promote attention and concentration. Markus Weis complements the technical and methodological expertise of the two founders with his affinity for numbers and takes care of the startup's profitability and sales issues.
