We We are developing a robot that automates the scaffolding assembly process and introduces a digital data platform to the construction site. With two people and a robot, we can erect scaffolding of any size almost twice as fast.
Scaffolding assembly is inefficient and expensive. 80% of the time spent erecting and dismantling scaffolding is spent transporting the scaffolding components. 60% of the costs are labor costs. Furthermore, scaffolding is dangerous, and over 6,000 accidents occur annually in Germany alone. Scaffolding and the construction industry as a whole continue to experience a skilled labor shortage. One of the main reasons for these problems is inefficient scaffolding assembly logistics. Our solution is intelligent robots that move along the scaffolding not only vertically but also horizontally, ensuring a continuous flow of materials during scaffolding assembly. This significantly improves scaffolding assembly logistics.
Scaffolding companies also lack information such as: When do my employees start and finish assembly? Where are my scaffolding components located? Which scaffolding components do I own? Using artificial intelligence algorithms, sensors, and machine learning, our robots log data on the construction site, determine the positions of people, and calculate their own paths. To obtain information, we use computer vision to identify which scaffolding components are being installed. Path planning is enabled partly by radio sensors and partly by pathfinding algorithms.
