The idea for Delicious Data was born over lunch in the university cafeteria. Shortly before closing time, there was still a large amount of freshly cooked food at the counter, but at the same time, there were no customers left to eat it all. This was where the founders, Valentin Belser and Jakob Breuninger, first became aware of the problem of waste in the restaurant industry. Globally, the problem is even greater: approximately one-third of all food is lost along the value chain worldwide. This is not only a waste of valuable resources, but also harmful to the climate.
Delicious Data uses advances in artificial intelligence to increase sustainability in the food sector through accurate sales forecasts.
