After several years in various roles at yfood, we launched ciao earlier this year to revolutionize the coffee market. While much has already been achieved in terms of sustainability in the dairy (e.g., Oatly, Alpro) and meat (e.g., Beyond Meat, Rügenwalder Mühle) sectors, the coffee industry has remained largely unchanged. Since conventional coffee beans are problematic from a sustainability perspective, we developed a sustainable coffee made from 100% European ingredients and without coffee beans. This saves us over 90% of water and CO2 consumption compared to conventional coffee.
Our first product line, a ready-to-drink (RTD) iced coffee, has already received positive feedback from initial listings at Rewe and Edeka in Germany (>200 POS). In the future, we will continuously develop our product portfolio (e.g., instant coffee, filter coffee).
