To mark this year's Earth Day, more than 400 tech companies are launching a joint campaign: Time for Climate Action. All participating companies are taking climate action themselves and encouraging their users and partners to do the same. The goal is to reach more than 100 million people and trigger millions of meaningful and measurable actions for climate protection.
Gate Garching is participating in the campaign for the second time and this year invites you to make a hands-on contribution to climate protection with a forest conservation event on May 20, 2022, in Poing near Munich.
We will support the teaching and experimental forest of the German Forest Protection Association (SDW) in:
- Piling up trunks as a basis for hedges
- To remove weeds from young trees
- Replanting shrubs
- Collect plastic and garbage
- Mowing meadows and doing other maintenance work
The meeting point is between 9:30 and 10:00 a.m. at Grub S-Bahn station in Poing. From there, we'll walk to the forest, where the SDW will instruct us on what to do and how to do it. We'll get tools and gloves on site. We'll work until 2:00 p.m., including a lunch break.
So pack your lunch and put on your work pants. We look forward to getting to work together!
