Seminar “The Curse and Blessing of High Startup Valuations”

The German startup scene reached a new level of development in 2015. Financing rounds in the range of over €10 million are widespread, and those in the range of more than €50 million are no longer uncommon. We have seen numerous successful exits with proceeds in the three-digit million euro range. The business models of German digital startups have proven their marketability.

Rising valuations bring with them high investor expectations, which are not always met. Setbacks are part of startup culture and require quick reactions and flexible adjustments to business models.

Therefore, we would like to discuss typical setbacks in the development of startups, identify the causes, discuss the resulting insights and provide possible courses of action.
