On October 9, 2016, the time has come again, because then the doors of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Oberpfaffenhofen will open for all those hungry for knowledge.
At 13 institutes and research facilities, DLR employees will present their projects in robotics, climate research, Earth observation, navigation systems, and, of course, space missions. Visitors can experience science firsthand by peeping into the laboratories and control rooms. What are the astronauts and cosmonauts currently doing on the ISS? What can satellite images tell us about our Earth? How do the Galileo satellites actually work? These and many other questions will be answered on this day.
In addition to numerous interesting lectures and shows at the institutes, guests can expect an exciting and varied supporting program, as well as an autograph session with a real astronaut. Aspiring young researchers will also enjoy an exciting children's program this year.
