Open Data Day Hackathon 2017

For the international Open Data Day on March 4, 2017, the E- and Open Government team of the City of Munich is once again organizing a hackathon.

Open Data – in the interest of the general public

The aim of the Open Data Hackathon 2017 is to raise awareness of open data and demonstrate the potential of open data. Open data are data sets that are made available to society for free use in the interest of the general public. Teaching materials, geodata, statistics, traffic information, scientific publications or medical research results – This and much more can be open data. The key characteristic is that the data is made available free of charge and without restrictions. The City of Munich provides open data sets on the Open Data Portal at www.opengov-muenchen.de ready.

Hackathon #oddmuc 2017

The E- and Open Government team of the City of Munich is organizing this year’s Munich Open Data Day together with Code for Munich.

This year's event is all about Smart City. The goal is to find answers to the future questions of urban development with the help of the latest technology and intelligently used data. Together with you, the data at this year's hackathon will be processed in such a way that it adds value to Munich.n represent.

Benedict Witzenberger, data journalist at Münchner Merkur, will be the keynote speaker. Afterwards, various data sets on the topics of public transport, the environment, and migration will be presented.

Further ideas, topic, or workshop suggestions are welcome! Simply post them in the forum when registering. The rest of the day will then be free to work on the identified topics. We will present the results at the end.

The hashtag for Twitter is the same as last year: #oddmuc
