Legislators have placed employee participation on a new footing through the use of actual company shares. Does this mean that virtual forms of employee participation are obsolete? Or are profit participation rights a much better tool for employee participation that can solve all problems? Which form of employee participation is preferable for which companies? What are the advantages and disadvantages, for example, with regard to manageability, tax framework, or governance? Is Germany finally competitive on an international level?
