Dos & Don'ts of Crowdfunding – Insights from Startups
Crowdfunding offers one way to finance your startup. When we hear the word "crowd" in connection with founding a company, we immediately think of crowdfunding or crowdinvesting. In this case, capital is provided by a large number of investors via an online portal. However, in the startup process, the crowd offers much more than just support with financing. You'll learn how the crowd can be used effectively during the startup process and what you need to consider in the October issue of the Innovation Café.
On October 9, 2019, the founders of the startups Foodys, Knister, Spyra, and UrmO will share their experiences on this topic with us and give you practical tips:
– Jacqueline Schaupp, Social Media Manager at Foodys
– Carolin Kunert, Managing Director and inventor of Knister Grill
– Marius Rudolf, co-founder of Spyra
– Sebastian Gouy, founder and managing director at UrmO

Jaqueline Schaupp is Foodys’ social media manager and has worked on several crowdfunding projects as a freelancer.
Carolin Kunert from Munich grew up with the barbecue problem on the Isar River and therefore invented a sustainable, high-quality and locally produced charcoal grill that can be transported on any bicycle.
After the Kickstarter success in 2018 with the most successful crowdfunding campaign in Germany, in which Spyra reached its funding goal after a record-breaking 25 minutes and raised more than 150,000 euros after 24 hours, the young team now wants to conquer the international market with their Spyra One.
To test the market for foldable, self-balancing, electric micro-vehicles, which had not yet been developed in Germany, the UrmO team launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter and Indiegogo in October 2018 (€193,000 in pre-orders).
To the Innovation Café
The Innovation Café is the monthly networking event of the SCE Start-up Support program and takes place on the first Tuesday of every month. It offers the opportunity to chat with other participants in a friendly atmosphere over a glass of beer, juice, or water – so interesting content and a pleasant atmosphere are guaranteed.
As usual, at the beginning of the Innovation Café, there is the opportunity to pitch your own startup – 2 minutes without slides – and to make one or two calls for action (co-founder search, crowdfunding campaign, etc.).
