This year, the staff of the Garching Research Campus invite you to a research journey into the world of science!
More than 30 institutes, facilities, and science-related companies will open their doors to you on October 21, 2017, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Take advantage of this rare opportunity to get to know one of Germany's largest centers for research and teaching from the inside – experience science live, hands-on, and have fun!
Research and learning on the Garching campus
With more than 6,000 employees and approximately 15,000 students, the Garching research campus in the north of Munich is one of the largest centers for science, research, and teaching in Germany. It boasts a unique concentration of scientific and technical research institutions: the largest campus of the Technical University of Munich, institutes of the Max Planck Society, the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, the Bavarian Academy of Sciences, and numerous other renowned institutes and companies.
Their fields of work range from basic research to the development of promising high-tech applications. And the Garching research site continues to grow: new institutes and companies are under construction and will enrich the professional diversity and collaboration between various disciplines on the site.
