digital health & care 2024

On the third digital health & care We want to actively exchange ideas with citizens and caregivers, with representatives of care facilities and services and their employees, with stakeholders in nursing education and applied nursing science, as well as with start-ups and companies in the field of “digital healthcare” about the new opportunities that digitalization offers for nursing.

To this end, we have developed a joint interactive program for our third conference in co-creation with startups, the LMU Hospital, the "Wir! Stiftung Pflegender Nachbarn" (We! Foundation for Caring Relatives), and other experts from the field of health and care.

This year's focus is on digital learning and work tools to support nurses. Different facets and levels of nursing requirements will be examined in detail – from theoretical knowledge transfer to practical instruction manuals, from professional nursing training to academic nursing science, from low-threshold counseling, training, and retraining programs to specialized exchange opportunities for professional discourse. This will also address the question of how the potential of digitalization can be leveraged to increase the attractiveness of nursing professions.

Another focus is how digital solutions can contribute to closer integration between professional care and home care provided by family caregivers and relatives. Given that home care accounts for approximately two-thirds of total care, the support needs of family caregivers and relatives must not be overlooked. Both sides can learn from each other, and digital technology can facilitate and support this exchange in a variety of ways – for example, through digital communication channels and coordination tools for assistants and specialists, through translation and explanatory aids for specialist literature, or in the form of digital or VR/AR-mediated live support for home care.

The entire event will be accompanied by sign language interpreters (DSG).
