Ecoplanet, founded in 2022 by Maximilian Dekorsy and Henry Keppler, raised 3.5 million euros in its latest financing round. The Munich-based Startup enables its corporate customers to optimize their electricity consumption. Given fluctuating electricity prices, consumption is concentrated during periods of low prices. The Ecoplanet platform uses analytics and artificial intelligence to empower companies to become pioneers of the energy transition and support them in implementing sustainable energy management strategies.
HV Capital in the lead
In one Seed round in April 2023 secured Ecoplant 2.6 million euros. HV Capital led the financing of the B2B energy platform, with several angel investors participating, including former Siemens Supervisory Board Chairman Gerhard Cromme and the Flixbus founders. HV Capital is also the lead investor in the current round. The fresh funds are intended to help further expand Ecoplanet's position as a pioneer in the development of innovative software for intelligent energy management.
Since its initial equity investment by HV Capital in March 2023, the Munich-based startup says it has expanded its customer base to a total of over 800 locations with a total energy consumption of over 500 GWh per year. This includes Alloheim Seniorenresidenzen SE, whose CFO Christoph Mosler says:
"Ecoplanet's support delivers on its promises. We've gained significant transparency in recent months with the Cockpit and have already been able to significantly reduce consumption. Through energy procurement, we've been able to secure attractive prices with Ecoplanet for several years to come."
The Ecoplanet Cockpit is designed to provide well-founded and automated recommendations for action for each individual case through detailed visualization and analysis of all energy data.
Ecoplanet currently employs 27 people and has offices in Munich and Berlin.
