Scan the receipt, spin the wheel, and with a little luck, get a partial refund of your restaurant bill – it can be that simple with the cashback app airbons. The Munich-based startup, founded by Rado Dymek, Tobias Tadysiak, and Simon Cordes, introduces itself in an interview with deutsche-startups.de the questions surrounding correct decisions, proof of concept and monetization.
What problem do you want to solve with airbons?
With airbons, we want to help restaurateurs increase their customer base – especially on slow days, which typically follow weekends or holidays. Our app also offers the restaurant operator's guests a great incentive and plenty of excitement: a virtual wheel of fortune determines whether airbons will reimburse the guest for part of their bill. This not only brings new customers to the restaurateur but also strengthens the loyalty of existing guests to restaurants that offer airbons.
Dozens of new startups are born every week. Why is Airbons the one that is so successful?
We're pleased to have already achieved our proof of concept. This is an important indicator that shows us that there's a need for our product beyond just theory. So, the only thing that's missing now is the further implementation. However, our team meets all the requirements to be successful with airbons. In addition to our existing expertise and many years of experience as freelancers, our network will play a crucial role. It's now essential for us to make the right decisions next. By this, I mean our partners, employees, and investors. Of course, we can't neglect the continuous development of our product.
How do you want to earn money?
Restaurants that participate in the airbons system and want to acquire additional customers through us pay for their participation. We also offer additional services to restaurateurs for a fee. This can include equipping the restaurant areas with iBeacons, which the restaurateur can manage themselves via our airbons Business App. This allows them to take advantage of this technology without having to incur the development costs of their own app. Accordingly, they don't have to invest in building their target audience, as we already provide it.
