The two- to three-month EIT FAN program aims to support innovative food and agricultural startups in validating their technology and successfully launching it on the market. Participating young entrepreneurs are connected with industry-leading companies and research partners.
In addition to contacts in business and academia, the EIT FAN offers coaching and mentoring, as well as access to an international network of venture capital firms and industry experts. Participating startups also have the opportunity to secure up to €50,000 to implement their projects.
Five innovation centers in Europe have joined forces to form the EIT FAN, each focusing on specific areas.

- Bilbao: Sustainable food packaging
- Haifa: Food as Medicine
To be eligible to apply for the EIT FAN, applicants must have a prototype or pilot project. Furthermore, only startups from the EU, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom are allowed to apply.
