The car was designed as a closed system. Given today's requirements, it lacks even the simplest safety precautions. It is a moving computer with over 60 million lines of software and many interfaces to the outside world.
Primary Target has chosen the following approach for a software tool that is still lacking today: Threat modelling is a systematic procedure for identifying security vulnerabilities and attack vectors in complex, interacting hardware and software systems in automobiles and identifying possible defenses. The components, software, protocols and their connections and controls used are selected from a database and then automatically analyzed for security risks. In addition, all information is archived in databases so that further changes and adjustments can be made quickly and easily.
