Visitors to the 1st Munich Startup Festival can look forward to a diverse program on the main stage. Munich's Deputy Mayor Katrin Habenschaden "Munich's path to the Circular Economy" with various stakeholders from the circular economy. Afterwards, Munich universities will present their incubators, before Unicorn Round Unicorns Celonis, Flix, and Personio will provide insights into their founding histories. And another panel titled "Female Fintechs" will discuss opportunities and challenges for female founders in Munich.
Also eagerly awaited by many is the appearance of Federal Finance Minister Christian Lindner. Following his keynote speech, he will discuss with investor Svenja Lassen and Personio co-founder Hanno Renner how startups are driving innovation in business and society. The question of political support will play a central role. Topics such as diversity and investment are also on the agenda.
Presentation of the Munich Startup Award
The day's program concludes on the main stage with the Munich Startup Award. After the finalists have been selected in two semifinals throughout the day, the four best startups of the award will then pitch to the jury and audience. The winner is traditionally announced by Clemens Baumgärtner, Minister of Labor and Economic Affairs for the City of Munich. The winning startup receives prize money of €5,000 and can call itself "Munich Startup of the Year."
In addition to the program on the main stage, visitors can also expect an exhibition from various players in Munich's startup ecosystem. Key players such as Werk1, BioM, Fraunhofer Venture, and ESA BIC will present themselves and a selection of their startups. The founders will also take the stage at the “Plug & Play” Pitching clubs will bring entrepreneurs and their ideas to life, where they can present themselves and their ideas to the Tech Center and its partner network. And in various workshops, (prospective) founders can learn about the most important topics surrounding startups. Registration for the workshops is expected to open in early July.
Food trucks with a wide range of offerings, as well as select Munich food tech startups showcasing their creations, will ensure your culinary well-being at the 1st Munich Startup Festival. The event concludes with an after-party featuring live music.
