What good could a biotechnologist, a physiotherapist, and a management consultant achieve together? Of course...they'll become indoor farmers!...with the goal of supplying Munich and the surrounding area with vitamin-rich, flavorful, and, above all, regionally produced vegetable seedlings, so-called microgreens.
Gernot, Flo, and Thomas launched MingaGreens in their own basement in Munich-Moosach in February 2021. The goal was to source more than 30 different varieties of microgreens organically, and to generate as little packaging waste as possible. They achieved this by using a reusable system for their catering customers and by using recycled cardboard for retail packaging. The positive customer feedback is giving the guys at MingaGreens the impetus to make the upcoming move from the basement to a new production facility. So, it's exciting to see what comes next from this Munich-based manufacturer.
