Seven questions, seven answers. Munich Startup in conversation with nuclino.
1. Who are you? Please introduce yourselves briefly!
We are a three-person founding team consisting of designer Björn (26), techie Johnny (24), and business graduate Veronika (27). We met at the CDTM (Center for Digital Technology and Management) and worked together on projects there before founding our company.
2. What product do you want to use to change the world?
Nuclino is the simplest and fastest collaboration tool for productive teamwork. It helps you capture, share, and find your knowledge quickly and easily. Why is it so simple? Nuclino stands out for its extremely streamlined design and intuitive usability. Everyone on the team can get started right away—not just the techies. Why so fast? Using the powerful full-text search and the new navigation style, you can find all relevant content instantly. Your documents are automatically organized into so-called smart tags—so you no longer have to waste time on them. Our mission is to help teams around the world solve complex problems together. We're changing the world by helping others change it!
3. But that's been around for a long time!
Existing collaboration tools and corporate wikis are overcrowded with features and difficult to use. We discovered this in the more than 150 interviews we conducted with our target audience – and, above all, we experienced it ourselves every day within our own team as we navigated the folder chaos on G-Drive. Nuclino focuses on the essentials by offering only a fraction of the features and taking care of structuring your data for you. Our users' comments on social media and in startup communities confirm our outstanding user experience. See for yourself!
4. What are the three main ingredients for your recipe for success?
Passion, People, Purpose! – Our shared values that drive us every day.
5. Let’s get down to business: How is business going?
We launched the public beta at the end of January, and since then, our user numbers have been growing by an average of 401,000 users per week. All this without spending a cent on marketing. BetaList, Product Hunt, and Hacker News have been great channels for us—we highly recommend them!
6. What does Munich mean to you?
We studied in Munich and met here. The network we've built through CDTM is gigantic and, of course, extends far beyond the city limits. Munich's startup scene is booming, and Nymphenburger Straße is increasingly becoming Silicon Alley.
7. Either...or? P1 or Backstage?
P1, but only because of the Stylight parties 😉
