The startup certificate from HM and SCE offers participants a 24-week program to realize their own startup idea. Upon successful completion, they are awarded a certificate in the field of startup. The goal of the support program is to minimize the risk of starting a business and thus increase the number of successful technology-based startups.
The program is aimed at students and graduates from all universities, professionals, and aspiring founders in the early or pre-startup phase. Participation requires a university entrance qualification and completion of a multi-stage selection process. Participation in the program can be easily combined with studies or employment. International teams are also welcome. The industries and sectors from which the startup ideas originate are irrelevant: product or service, software or hardware, social impact or commercially driven, high-tech or low-tech. The decisive factors for participation are the degree of novelty, scalability, and potential of the idea, as well as the founders and their commitment.
Startup Certificate: Support, Coaching, Jobs and Network
The Startup Certificate offers several thousand euros in funding from the SCE and additional jointly applied-for public funding. It also provides free workspace, individual support from experienced startup consultants, workshops, networking events, and access to a community of startups and experts for building valuable contacts.
Participation in the program itself is free of charge. Only the semester fees for enrollment at the University of Hamburg for two semesters are charged. In return, participants are enrolled as students during this time and receive corresponding discounts.
Further information and the opportunity to apply can be found on the SCE website.
