Delicious Data closes Series A of €2.5 million

Delicious Data has secured €2.5 million in financing. In addition to existing investors such as Bayern Kapital and GeMü Beteiligungsgesellschaft, the VC funds Basinghall and Seed+Speed are also participating in this round. Additional capital is coming from business angels Jared Schrieber, Guzel Gumerova, and a private investor from the Baystartup network.

The AI startup Delicious Data aims to combat food waste with machine learning and algorithms. Its software-as-a-service solution is designed to help restaurateurs better plan their purchases. Using deep learning algorithms, the software analyzes historical customer data and combines it with other external factors such as holidays or weather data to make precise predictions for the future. Delicious Data claims to have already won over 1,000 locations in the catering and bakery sectors, achieving a reduction in food waste of around 30 percent.

With the €2.5 million in capital recently raised in the Series A, the Munich-based company aims to advance its technological development and enter new markets. To this end, the team will be expanded from the current 15 to 50 employees.

Delicious Data was founded in 2017 by Jakob Breuninger and Valentin Belser, who met while studying aerospace engineering together. Following initial seed funding in 2019, the Munich-based AI startup Financing again in early 2021 The amount of both rounds is unknown.
