What does the future of the Internet look like, what will prove itself, what will disappear? In a current BitkomIn a survey, around 150 German tech startups gave their assessment of Web3, the metaverse, and NFTs. Fifty-seven percent believe that Web3 will have long-term effects, only 23 percent see it as a short-term hype, and one-fifth (20 percent) are undecided.
A skeptical view of NFTs
Regarding the metaverse, 40 percent expect a permanent change, while 36 percent are less likely to believe it will play a role in the long term. 24 percent are undecided.
Founders are most skeptical about NFTs, which can be used to represent virtual ownership structures. 34 percent see them as a defining development, 45 percent see them as merely hype, and 21 percent are undecided.
