About

The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the need to develop and implement new technology solutions that accelerate digital transformation and bring about a paradigm shift in healthcare. This calls for a more preventative, personalized, participatory, and predictive healthcare approach.

Against this backdrop, the European Space Agency (ESA) has launched a new Kick-Start Activity (KSA) to accelerate sustainable innovations through the integration of space data and technologies. Given the broad scope of the topic of "Post-COVID Health and Well-being," the call for proposals is further divided into three sub-themes, each addressing a different central theme. The topic of "e-Patient" is the focus of this event.

This primarily involves the development of patient-centered solutions. Topics focused on within the KSA "E-Patient" include the early detection of health disorders using one's own smartphone, the analysis of the general health status of the population, and the prevention of chronic diseases through the support of healthy lifestyles.

As part of the Kick-Start Activity “Post-COVID Health and Well-being: E-Patient,” ESA offers support and funding to companies to conduct feasibility studies to develop their new service and application concepts.

The online event will include:

• the ESA Kick-Start Activity “Post-COVID Health and Well-being: E-Patient” was presented,

• explains the ESA Business Applications program,

• explains the roles of the partners involved and

• discussed possible support options from the German ESA Business Applications Ambassador.
