Baloise joins mobility startup Mobiko

The Swiss insurance group Baloise, together with Startup Family Office from Baden-Württemberg, is investing in the Munich-based startup Mobiko. The funds will be used, among other things, for product development.

The Mobility budget startup Mobiko was founded in 2018 by Audi Business Innovation and the company builder Mantro. The name is an abbreviation for mobility quota and hints at the Munich-based company's product: They offer companies a solution for billing their employees' mobility expenses via a monthly digital mobility budget. Patrick Wirth, Head of Mobility Unit at the Baloise Group, says:

“A monthly mobility budget can actively promote environmentally friendly mobility behavior by allowing people to decide which mobility solution is most appropriate in every situation.”

“We are proud to see Mobiko become so successful”

The Mobiko co-founder and CVO Andreas Reichert says:

"Our goal with Mobiko is to become the place where companies can manage, view, and automatically account for their entire corporate mobility in a tax-compliant manner."

With the fresh capital, the company intends to further expand its activities and advance product development. Michael Gick, Commercial Director at Audi Business Innovation, says:

"We are proud that we, together with Mantro, have succeeded in bringing an idea that emerged as part of our innovation process to market maturity – and to now see Mobiko become so successful. We are delighted that we now share the same vision with our newly acquired investors for simple, tax-optimized, and environmentally friendly mobility as an offering for employers."
